The purpose of this blog is to share the history and memories of the Dewey and Velma James family of Newton County Arkansas. They gave so much to their family and the community and we want to share and preserve those memories. If you have a special memory or story please share it. ReplyDeletethis may come twice - it was around april 19 - 1933. I was born in the old school house. Goldie and Jean tell the story that they were responsible for getting me over to mother to nurse. they say they carried me part way and drug me the rest on a blanket. Do you suppose that had anything to do with my personality. They not only carried the house board by board but mother also said they straightened the nails and reused them
